Also, how would you define a "hero" ?

Harry is a hero because he lived through a situation that no one in the past has. He makes the quidditch team as a first year. He also decides to go after the person who is trying to steal the Soccerer's stone. He also tries to help Hagrid with his dragon dilemma. These are just a few among many.

In the first book Harry saves the Sorcers Stone from Voldemort, who is still a little bit alive but cant take physical form so he goes into the back of Professor Quirell's head. (creepy, I know.) The Sorcers Stone is The Elixr of Life and it'll give you all the money you want. If Voldemort got the Sorcers Stone he could have come back. Thats what makes Harry the hero in the first book.

You see, Harry Potter survived a terrible instant killing curse by the infamous Lord Voldmort. He becomes a know hero for that. Also her found out that the dark arts teacher is working with Voldmort and gets the Sorcerer's Stone. Not many people survived that or gotten the sorcerer's stone.

Well, first, he 'defeated' Volemort, without even having the hability to speak (meaning: a baby), so that was the first thing that made everyone call him a hero (the-boy-who-lived).
then, in Sorcerer's Stone, he defeats Voldemort one more time, by stopping him of stealing this magical stone, which would give him eternal life. So, by hero, I mean he did kinda saved the magical community a few times.

He's a hero because he is the only survivor of Voldemort hence the nickname the boy that lived. Not only did he survive his powers when he was a baby but he also survived against Voldemorts powers in his first year making him a hero. People have faith that he can defeat him.

he saves the sorcer stone and keeps it any from "u no who" because then the most dark wirard would come back to life if he didnt take it rom him that is the main event of heroness <3

If you are reading this book for a class, don't cheat yourself and ask other people for the answers. This is a great book! Even people who don't like to read get involved and enjoy it.

He opened the Chamber of Secrets, and they find out he speaks Parseltongue, and he defeats Voldemort once again.

Read the book and the rest in the series. They are very good.
