I can't stress enough that there is NOTHING that can cure a UTI except for antibiotics. Cranberry juice is only helpful at PREVENTING UTI's. Some evidence suggests it can help in VERY early stages, but why risk it?

Antibiotics are something are body produces to fight infection. Taking an outside source of them when NEEDED is beneficial, not harmful. When pregnancy is concerned, this is a no-brainier.

Infections can be very dangerous to the baby, and may even cause harm to the developing fetus or induce pre-term labor if the infection spreads.

Tell you daughter that if she cares about the health of her bladder and kidneys (a severe kidney infection caused by a UTI can cause kidney failure) and the health of her baby, she will get to the doctor tomorrow.

Dangerous thing what you are doing. Probably endangering your unborn child.

These are Testimonials on here and folk medicine and those things do work, but only on some people, not all and in your daughter's case it is a MUST that she rid of UTI immediately.

What the big deal on antibiotics anyhow, those things occur in nature as organic substances all science did was go out there and search and discover their usefulness.

Does your daughter think that Antibiotics were created in a lab?

Holy Crap! Call a doctor! Why would you mess around with something the *might* work when there is and infection inches from a developing baby. Antibiotics are over-prescribed and using them for things like head colds is silly but a bacterial infection can be dangerous. There is a time for antibiotics and a doctor will be able to tell you if this is it.

Good luck and congratulations on the new grandbaby!

A LOT of cranberry juice...not cranberry cocktail...or cranberry extract pills...but just drinking that won't guarantee for the UTI to go away...she should ask her doctor what's best for her cause it might spread to her kidneys which can be fatal.

I would tell her to take garlic supplements. It helps to balance bacteria in the system. It will also prevent colds and flu among many other good things.

the only thing i can add to what has been said (so, other than lots of cranberry juice) is to use dove soap and avoid baths.

according to my gynocologist at planned parenthood, dove soap has a pH level close to that of the vagina.

Cranberry juice, lots of fluid, vitamin c, plain yogurt.
The cranberry "emergenC" packages work well. You can find them in any store.
