My father once told me, "You don't need friends to have fun". For the most, I truly thank him for keeping myself in a good path of not doing anything terrible in my life. But as well of his advice he had given myself, I could have a few new people around to hang out with.

When I was 19, my aunt convinced me that I was too young to marry my boyfriend. I loved him, but she had some pretty strong arguments. I asked him to wait. Basically, I turned him down. He told me I broke his heart. I know I broke mine. That was over twenty years ago.
I'm happily married, have a good job and a wonderful family. I wouldn't wish for any change in my life, but....I'll always wonder.

best advice, measure twice cut once. a good tradseman always cleans up after hiself. i live by that advice in work and homelife (a saviour in the bedroom :-) from an old tradesman
worst advice, "your funds are low, you should get a loan and an overdraft" from a spotty prick "client advisor" at my bank

the advice I gave myself changed my life and that was to be the best I can be, and when someone tried to make me someone I wasn't that changed my life too
