I found the thread in the Mexican section hilarious. Mexicans still basing claims of greatness on the 1970's and 80's. Guess what? Its 2007. Start basing your views on facts and not "latin pride". Here are the facts. Since 1998 the US has a record of 9-1-2 against Mexico. Not only do the triple Mexicos victory total but they have outscored Mexico in those games 16-3, thats right USA 16....Mexico 3? (I listed all these games and their date, score and location in a previous post but somebody had the post deleted out of embarrassment) Still think you are dominant, please post your ignorance below....... I believe Mexico will win the Gold Cup. Don't misunderstand me, my reasons are not because of a bias against the US, I am american. However, I think that the reason Mexico will win is because they are built for endurance/tournaments and the US are built for stand alone games. Mexico has depth where it has more than 11 players that can start, which is good in a tournament. They have also played well in tournaments, namely 2003 Gold Cup, 2005 Confederation Cup, 2006 World Cup. Yes, I know you can counter that arguement with the 2002 World Cup and the 2005 Gold Cup, but you need to keep of few things in mind. The Mexican team is younger and have very few players from the 2002 Tournament and the last Gold Cup did not feature their A Squad (they just returned from the Confederation Cup). USA does well in individual games, which is where the majority of their record comes from, but that does not win you a tournament. A tournament requires multiple wins, something the US does not do on a regular basis.
With that said, you asked why USA will win the Gold Cup. I have and answer, and it is not because Mexico is second rate. If USA wins, it will be because Hugo Sanchez miss manages the Mexican National team. That and they have homefield advantage.

brazil is not in da gold cup!! know ur **** b4 u tlk....in da2006 WC mex didnt do ****, they had one win and thats great?(multiple wins?) i know US didnt do **** either but i admit it..and how is da mex. team younger...i give dat they did ok at the cofederations cup but not great....US is da one wit da young talent wit da majority of them playin in europe...the mexican style of play is just blastin da ball to the other side (putasos)...US has speed.......but watever....
to answer da question, the US will win da gold cup cuz they are da more dominant team in concacaf at da moment...and if mex. fuckz up, it will not be cuz of sanchez..dats always their excuse for everythin...it will be cuz of da fact dat they get outplayed or arent as dominant in concacaf anymore...im not saying mex. is weak, they play good..im just sayin things change and US is coming up wit their young talent and have a bright future...

Mexico will not win it as long as Brazil are around.

the usa will win it because brazil usually sends their u23 team which is possible to beat surprisingly
