Hell No! There isn't enough money in the world to get me to risk going to jail.

Are you thinking about doing that here in the US?
LOL
Be ready to get you’re a s s in jail, or at least to pay fines that will be much larger than anything you can “charge” the person that will marry you.
Let me open your eyes:
The INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service) is now so tight with their requirements that unless you are willing to go all the way with the matrimony thing, forget it, they will discover you.
Just to give some examples:
You will have to hire a lawyer; you do not want to do this without a lawyer. He/she must not know about the deal, because he/she could testify against you later, so do not say anything.
Then, papers will be introduced. To verify it, the INS will request proof of the weeding. That is, you can not just submit a government paper signed that says you are married. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THAT. The paper is a fact, but not proof of a real marriage.
They will ask for wedding pictures, the wedding reception pictures (now you have to spend thousand of dollars on a reception too), and also the honeymoon, so be ready to provide pictures of that. And don’t worry, if you don’t have pictures, they will ask you for receipts, or will check your bank account or your credit card accounts to check for those.
You excuse yourself and say you two are on a budget, and give whatever explanation you want, but the more excuses you make, the more problems you will get from them as they will start to suspect.
If you are able to pass the first step, then you have the surveillance for the next several months. You and your “spouse” must go to multiple interviews, and many are called in by surprised and you must go. On those they will test you to see if you have been really intimate with each other.
They ask things like “what color is his tooth brush”, or “what kind of cereal your wife eats every morning” or “when was the last day of her last period”. In fact, they can ask things that can really make you get angry.
And worse, you can get eyes on you 24/7 if they decide there is a chance that the matrimony is fake. And the problems is, that you must live together because they wll make sure you do, and will follow you to the house, and will make sure you two go out together on weekends, etc.
If you fail the tests, they will get you with several charges; the immigrant will be deported, and in many cases incarcerated. You can end up in jail too if you don’t watch it.
Not as restricted, but still very restricted is also the case in Europe. So if you live here or there, you better watch out.

A person has to look within themself in order to
do what you are asking. Marriage is sacred and to
use it to make money , well need I say more, also
there are laws that apply and differ from states so
unless that person was familiar with all the laws
that are involved, then a big risk factor is in place.
So before anyone thinks of doing it for the sake of
money better be prepared for the un-expected!!!

Although I do not honor those who marry for money, it is not impossible. My husband and I got married because I was pregnant. We did not have to submit any such proof that we were married other than a marriage license. Maybe the fact we were going to have a baby, by the time we applied for his residency, had something to do with it. During the process, before he received is approved waiver, we were advised by our lawyer to state on the application that he was living in Mexico, even though he wasn't. He was caught here illegally and lying on the application and was close to being banned from the U.S. for up to 10 years!! I wrote 1,000's of letters to INS and 1,000's of letters to my Congressman. To make a long story short, after almost two years he finally received his approved waiver to reenter the U.S. This time I went to Mexico to represent him and much to my surprise in the manila folder with all his documents were all the letters I had written to them and letters my Congressman had written on our behalf. My Congressman even set up a meeting with me and INS agents to meet face to face and i poured my heart to them. They didn't seem to care, but a month later I received the news that his waiver had been approved. If you are willing do all that for someone you don't love and are only interested in how it will benefit your pocket then more power to you. I did it for love, for the sake of our children, and for him.

Nope, not for me. I honor and value what marriage stands for too much. Also, what are the legal repercussions if you're found out?!
Maybe if I gave up on love and was really poor I would reconsider. I'd say take no less than $50,000 cash.
