I bent the rear axle shaft on my Honda 250 Recon four wheeler. My question is this: Do I have to remove the rear gear housing cover to remove the axle shaft, or can I just slide out the rear axle WITHOUT taking the rear gear housing apart?
I would appreciate any tips you can give me for removing the rear axle shaft.

Thanks!

I haven't taken one apart myself but looking at one I'm pretty sure your going to have to take it apart. I've always done my one work on my bikes and I never had a problem I couldn't do myself.

if this is a rear wheelchronic motor vehicle it take some specific kit. you will desire to open the rear diff. kit container interior the middle. you eliminate the tire on the factor it particularly is bend you disconnect the axle interior the kit container **** you will choose a bearing puller to eliminate the shaft out the tire factor. that's the stressful section and you will screw up the race (the housing the bearing sits in) authentic uncomplicated in case you hammer it. replace the shaft - reconnect - close the kit container and fill up with fluid. reinstall tire. be conscious if the wobble is authentic undesirable you ought to learn the race the place the bearing sits in case this is warped.
