A tipped uterus is the term used to describe a uterus that is tilted backwards away from the belly. The condition is also referred to as a retroverted uterus or tilted uterus. All three terms are interchangeable. The uterus is normally suspended in a straight up and down position or slightly forward toward the belly. A tipped uterus is usually something you are born with, but can be caused by labor while giving birth or by disease. It occurs in approximately 20% of women. My gyn said it was a contributor to my painful menstrual cramps. I have 2 children and had no problem during labor and delivery. Don't worry, you'll be fine.

If your doctor wasn't worried, you shouldn't be.

SOMETIMES an oddly shaped or placed uterus can cause trouble conceiving or keeping the baby alive in the uterus not to mention a hard birth.

Chances are you'll just have to have a c-section when you do become pregnant. No biggie though!
