would you suggest continuing an engineering degree, or a sociology degree?

Yes, you will need maths to do sociology, especially when you have to deal with statistics.

Sounds as if you should study either sociology or psychology.

You will still need maths to do any research requirements of both subjects, so I suggest
you pass that math class.

You have to choose what you truly love and then do whatever it takes to get you there. If helping people interests you then talk to your counselor about taking an aptitude test to see what your interests are, then take it from there. Helping people is extremely interesting but can also be hard on you so be sure thats what you really want to do. There is a great need for good trained people to help others in todays world, but the pay isnt always good but the inner rewards are. Your choice. Good luck

I dont care what you do during math class as long as it doesnt disturb me. And you should be where you like to be or where you need to be anyways.
