There is this mass of stuff they are clear, jellylike, and have white dots in them. Problem is, the female fish died yesterday. If she did lay eggs this could be a problem. So...are they eggs or just...tank crud?

There is a male in the tank. So if they are eggs they are probably fertilized.

It's a good bet they're eggs. You'll need to remove the male if you want the fry to survive, unless this is a species that provides parental care. If it is, the male may be able to take care of them himself - at least he'll try. If this is something with no parental care, the loss of the female won't make a difference in the survival of the fry.

Try googling the species of your fish + breeding to find out if parental care is provided if you don't know whether or not it is given. Or, post the species here as an edit to your question.

You have a black molly!! (Or had one) Some fish lay eggs, and some have live birth. These are called livebearers. Do some research, get another molly, and then try to raise the babies!! It's a lot of fun. I'm in saltwater right now, but I used to be in freshwater, and I'm thinking of getting back in with mollies and platys.

I belive they good be eggs
I would make sure you keep any other fish away from them cause they good get eaten. IS there a male in the tank? cause if there isnt there could be eggs, but there not fertile.
