My friend gets sad easily. He has been sad lately because he feels like no one cares about him even though I show him all the time that he is important to me. Recently he turned off his phone and wont talk to me. I didn't do anything to him but hes so sad that hes just blocking everyone from his life.

i have been such a good friend so it hurts that hes blocking me out too. its hard because i am president and he is vice president of a club that we formed together and it hurts that he doesnt think about our club and his responsibility to that. he has totally dropped his responsibility to the club and i dont know what to do.

i am worried about him. im thinking about going to his work tonight to talk to him after hes off work. what should i say? im going to tell him that im sorry he is going through such a hard time and that i am here for him and i do respect if he doesnt want to talk to me but i do think that he has a responsibility to this club

I know how you are feeling because i have a friend like this too. She shuts people out whenever she having a problem or going through a bad time.

Some people are like this and theres nothing you can do to change them! (unfortunately!). It is really difficult to handle though because you feel like it is not your fault - so why are they doing this? You are taking it personally.

He probably cant handle his responsibilities with the club. He has retreated into his own world and is consumed with what is happening with him at the moment. If you did get him to open up you probably find that he is in a pretty bad place. Try to understand this. Offer a listening ear. He could be suffering from depression or some other difficult problem. It is reallly hard for people to talk about these sorts of problems.

Maybe he might appreciate his responsibilites to the club if he sees it can get his mind off his problems. It can be an outlet but it might just take a really good friend to be able to help him see this! Hint hint! You could be the friend he really needs.

I wish you all the best. Dont take this as a rejection to you. It is him not you. I know it hurts though but hopefully if you see he is not meaning to hurt you - he is just coping the only way he knows how.

xoxo

Earlier today I felt really down. I didn't wanna do ANYTHING ! I had to force myself to get outta bed, brush my hair, go to pick up my pills which are right across the st, & go to the store (which is only a lil farther than the pharmacy, next block but up a lil way). I still have to go to the bank... I really didn't think that I could do it but I managed. It took me a lot longer than it normally takes me to get all of that done. I was in bed for a while b/f getting up. I was contemplating calling my bf cuz we're not on speaking terms. I called him @ home but I guess he was already @ work. Support your friend however you can. If he has voice mail then def leave him a msg. Figure out what you wanna say b/f you leave the msg tho. If he's not answering his calls then his voice mail may be full so it'd be best to get it all in to one msg if possible. (I had to keep rerecording a msg so that I didn't have to leave 2) Let him know that you're there to help. Don't say anything that'll make him the least bit mad. I wouldn't even mention the club thing. That's irrelevant @ this pt. What's important is that he have some support. Right now I feel alone cuz I feel like I have no one to call. My bf is @ work, I don't have many friends, my sis isn't online, my Mom's @ work & another sis is @ skewl. (She'll be home in 25 min) I guess what I had to do was pretty much make small goals. Doing all the things that I mentioned shouldn't take a lot of strength but sometimes it does. Esp if something's wrong. Try to get him to get some professional help. Offer to go w/ him. He prob won't want to cuz then he'd feel like if he went that that means that he's crazy, which obviously he isn't. Maybe if you mention that they're reg peeps who just happen to be trained to help peeps in tough situations. Good luck.

P.S. At least he's getting out of bed. It was hard for me to do that today. I was in bed a lot longer than I should have been...

I hate to admit it yet i became seeing a married guy an fairly long term in the past and a similar issues went on. you already comprehend it is going to easily take time to confirm. the guy i became seeing screwed up and left his telephone abode whilst i attempted to call and we've been busted. i'm sorry on your place i'm hoping all works out

Your friend sounds like he is suffering from depression. He should probably go get professional help. When you start shutting out people close to you it is def. time to see someone else. Just be there to support him. Keep trying to get him out and keep him active as much as possible. Also push him to see someone, but don't make it seem like he is crazy for needing help and feeling the way he does.

Just leave him until he recovers himself. Pushing him could make things worse.
