its really hard when you have another child, especially one that is so young, even though all children are demanding, but there is a lot of lifting involved with young children. If there is anyone that can help you with anything, explain your concerns and stress to them that at this time, you really need some extra help so that you can have as easy a pregnancy as you possibly can. If there is no-one there to help then you would have to adapt to a routine of doing only the most important tasks/jobs in a day whilst leaving the tedious jobs that aren't so important. I found out that I was 5 weeks pregnant when my baby daughter was only 12 weeks old, I hadnt suffered a miscarriage, but my body was very weak and hadnt had enough time to adjust from pregnancy to another and I had a terrible time being pregnant with my son. I had to accept help(for the first time in my life)....basically from my mum, just to get through any kind of jobs in a day, because at the time I still had a 6 year old that had to go to school etc....and my husband was working permanent nights and sleeping most of the day, so life at the time was very hard, and made even harder whilst I was pregnant by the fact that my 12 week old daughter didnt sleep throughout the whole of my pregnancy to my son....Then we he arrived, neither of them slept.....Phewwwww.....lol Try to limit how much you have to lift your baby whilst you're pregnant, if he isnt crawling already, he'll soon be crawling or walking shortly anyway which would make life easier. My daughter was only 11 months old when my son was born and still not walking (he was a month premature ) the hardest thing was trying to breastfeed and chase after a baby that could crawl at 60mph at the same time, or juggle both children in both arms at the same time.
Try learning to knit.....I always mocked it and thought it was only a granny's pass-time, but it is very relaxing, a cheap hobby and you will have a finished product to look at that your little baby will be able to wear when they were born....Dont worry, you'll find a way to suit you that means that your son will not be neglected whilst you also give yourself the best care during your pregnancy too.
Hope this helps,( sorry its so long)

Take it easy- do not do any heavy activity. If you are gonna have a miscarriage-you cannot prevent it. You should check with your doctor about cramps though. It could be a lot of different things. I have even heard of an ectopic pregnancy-the egg plants itself in the fallopian tubes and it can cause cramps. Buy the book-"What to Expect When You Are Expecting" I love this book. I have 3 kids, and I read this book cover to cover several times. It has tons of info! Get it at Wal-mart in the baby department or book section. Your other baby will be fine-just don't carry the baby around all day. Just until you feel better.

I have been the same - I went into the hospital bleeding heavily at 16 weeks, they told me I was almost certainly miscarrying, but they managed to stop it and my baby held in there!

I would tell the doctor, you may need to go on bed-rest - I have been since I left the hospital at 17 weeks, I'm 32 weeks now.

If it means not being able to do so much with your baby, you may have to do that - I have a 4 year old boy, and it has been really hard as I've felt like I've been neglecting him, but it was the best I could do for my baby... Ask for help with him, play with him without dong anything strenuous.

Good luck, I hope it's all a false alarm!

:-)

Personally I would have waited awhile before getting pregnant again. But congratulations anyway. Call your doctor NOW and see if he or she has any recommendations or guidance on the issue. Bad cramps are not normal and should be checked out ASAP.

I would call your doctor right away. You can stll have cramps with a healthy pregnancy, I did. I was cramping so bad one night I started crying and the midwife said she thought it might be a miscarriage, but it wasn't and now I am 30 weeks. But call the doc to be sure!

I'm with the other girl, you need to have a consultation with your Doc as soon as you can, keep them in the loop, and never ever be afraid to call them.

Just try to relax... that's about all you can do.. try to sleep when your baby naps, don't overdo it.. that's about it. I wish I could help more.
