Sure I could do it. It would have to be a pretty heavy payout, like $250k or so. Otherwise I wouldn't touch it.

I don't know how I'd hide that money from the government though. I'd have to spend the illegal cash on my gasoline and food, etc, and only use my paycheck to make mortgage and bill payments.

Don't do it. You will have to be married to this person for at least 6 years, and you have to share the same address. Sometimes they check on them and then they have to be at your house. You might end up finding someone and you can't marry them because you already are, plus you will get less money back during tax time due to being married filing separately. There is a list of reasons why not to, but if you are you need to think if the time you will be married with them (6), loss of tax money (1/2), if you have to provide insurance for them (or them for you), and if they give you a monthly stipend for being married to them. So, your best bet is not less than $5,000. I have been offered as much as $7,500, plus $500 a month afterwards. See what you can work out with them.

Not that I'm all about the whole marriage thing but if both of you were to get caught committing fraud both of you would pay a hefty price... possible jail time.
With all these new laws regrading immigration I say be careful. I don't think its worth it. I was offered once to marry an asian guy. I thought about it but then I said Oh hell no what if I get caught or what if I find my mate and they ask me why I was divored or whatever.
Think about it. Seriously!

It sounds bad, but I guess it depends on my situation. I mean, if I were single, young, needed to go to college but had no money, maybe I would. But I would have to make damn certain every thing was ... amicable, ya know? And besides, isn't there a law that states how long someone has to be married to become a citizen? I mean, you can't just get divorced after a few years, right?

Wouldn't do it at all. Number 1, because I'm already married and would never marry anyone for any reason other than I loved them. Number 2, it's considered fraud, and I believe it's at a level that it's considered a felony. 1+ year in prison just isn't worth any amount of money to me.

If you are from England this is not as easy as it sounds..The ruling has changed .first the immigrant has to know how to speak the language..have to be in the country with a visa to stay for 5 years before they can be made a British citizen ..if you divorce them before this they can be returned to their country of origin..as you are the sponsor for them..It could be that if it was an arranged marriage of convenience .the marriage will not be annulled ..just like that...

No, I would not. Sounds like too much trouble. I would rather make my own money, and get married for real to the person I want to be with.

The ongoing rate is between US$20-50k.

When the Immigration officials catch you during interviews as you can't answer any of their tough questions, one party is thrown in jail and fined and the other party gets deported. A criminal record is what you'll get.

Marriage is supposed to be between a man and woman who love each other. So no. It is inappropriate and no amount of money is enough.

Yes i would, but it would have to be for £1 million, or else it wouldnt be worth it.

Also depends on how long i would have to be married to him? And also whether he expected me to lie to my family and friends?
