You just have to stay persistent. You'll eventually find one.

Mark, looking for a job (especially when you don't have one) is a full time job. There are literally dozens of places to look almost everyday. Try these for starters:

1. State employment agency-they have listings for jobs in your area and state.

2. Federal government jobs-try www.usajobs.opm.gov. They have listings for jobs all over the country and even the world. You can make your job search as broad or narrow as you'd like. These job vacancies change literally daily.

3. State government jobs-check the web for your state. Undoubtedly, there are some state agencies that are hiring.

4. Newspapers-check papers everywhere you might be interested in working. You can check online.

5. Professional journals/newletters and magazines

6. College/university alumni associations

7. Private personnel agencies

8. Private temporary agencies-sometimes a temporary job may turn into a permanent one.

These are just some of the ideas off the top of my head. Talk with friends and family. Maybe they might know of a company or agency that is hiring.

If you're a military veteran, the Veteran's Administration can sometimes help you find a job and maybe provide training for you to make you more competitive in the job market.

When you apply for jobs, make sure that your grammer and spelling is immaculate. Be thorough in your applications. NEVER lie on an application. A major no no and even if you get a job by lying, with most companies, if they find out about it, you will be fired.

When you interview for a job, make sure that you've bathed, and shaved. Make sure that your clothes are clean. Look the person interviewing you in the eye. Smile. You only have the first 30 seconds to make a good impression on them. When you shake hands, shake firmly. Not too soft and don't crush their hands either.

When they ask you about your best traits, tell them you're reliable, hard working, dependable and you get along with others.

Do not get discouraged. I've been there. I lost my job about 15 years ago and it took me 7 months to find a new one.

You have to keep plugging away. Finally, I'd like to add that a job that's not your dream job is better than no job. Pride doesn't put food on the table. Besides, you may learn to like it and if not, you can look for something better.

Good luck, hang in there and God bless!

Well, I wished I could answer because I'm in the same boat. I'm currently working but going on interviews left and right. The economy isn't the best right now and there are a lot of jobs really that' aren't available anymore. I always go through the classified in my local newspaper, Yahoo/Hot Jobs, CareerBuilder.com is a another good one. If you have a resume, upload onto these sites and just keep looking. that's really all any of us can do =)

well do you have any skills, or have you had any previous jobs that could lead to anything that you might want to do in the future? i think you have to get creative, i mean don't just look in one area. like example, be smart about it, widen your search. If you like finance, think of other fields, non related that may need a financial person for that company. Not only the financial companies look for finance people. Or i use to drive around and write down buildings that i liked, and the companies that are in them, then go on the main web site of that company and find careers within that company. work with that. I always find a job ya know?

The easiest way to find a job is to already be employed. For some reason, employers like other people's employees. Keep trying though, don't give up. You will find something, it just takes a long time sometimes.

You have to be persistent. Also the impression you make is very important, even when you are just picking up or dropping off an application you should dress well. Make sure you look clean and smell good and you speak professionally. Don't use slang words and double-check your resume for grammar/spelling mistakes.

Have you looked? If so, please be sure you dress decently, and your hair looks half way normal. I just made my 18 year old cut his mow hawk cause he was wondering why HE couldn't get a job. You HAVE to look presentable, as no one wants to hire a weirdo. First impressions are so important. I've interviewed so many people over the years, and I have to tell you, if they look like scum, I don't care what their resume says, I will NOT hire them!
