Yes, that's normal. This early in pregnancy, if the ultrasound looked normal, then there really isn't much to discuss. The baby is still so small. Also, my doctor didn't start measuring until my last appointment when I was at 6 months. It seems like my last doctor started a little earlier w/ the measuring and every doctor is different. And at this point, if you're showing it's really not the baby making you show just yet. Mostly swelling and bloat, and your doctor probably figures it's too early to measure. If there's anything else you want to know, it really helps to write down any questions you have and ask them at your next appointment. I've asked alot of Q's during this pregnancy, and my doctor actually seems to appreciate it. If you are really not comfortable with your doctor (and you need to be, you're having a baby!), then you still have plenty of time to look around for another one. Good luck, and congrats!

hi! i am also 11 weeks 6 days :) ive had 2 ultrasounds...one at 6 weeks and one at 10 weeks. Never have I gotten a picture or anything. The only thing that was said to me was that the heart is beating fine and theres no need for worry. The Dr would definitely tell you if something wasnt right. I havent been measured either. They wont measure me until next week at my 12 1/2 week visit. They will also listen to the heartbeat through a monitor. Im sure at your next appt they will measure you and go over everything. I wish you the best of luck and congrats!! If you need a "belly buddy" you can contact me since we are the same due date!

Yeah. They normally won't measure until around 20 weeks. That is when the uterus is big enough to measure. Before that, it isn't a correct measurement. Don't worry about it. Your doctor knows what they are doing. The ultrasound is just for him to make sure things are going right. Usually they won't say anything about it unless they see something that concerns them. At your 20 week one, they will probably go over some stuff with you, but if they don't don't stress. Sounds pretty typical to me.

I think it's normal for them not to start measuring your belly when you get around 20 weeks.
I'm 17 weeks today, and I've never had my belly measured either. I had my first ultrasound at 10 weeks, but they didn't "go over it" with me. There really wasn't much to see at 10 weeks. They don't take measurements and all that until your ultrasound that you get between 18-22 weeks.
Good luck!

I am 19 weeks preg and i haven't had my belly measured either. it is normal. My doctor doesn't even touch me he is in for about 1 min asking me questions and asks if i have any questions and he leaves. He is a very good Dr too.and when you have your ultrasound at 20 wks that is when he should go over it with you, at 8 wks there is not much to go over.

I always see people on here worried about measurments and fundal height. My doctor never once measured my belly with my twin pregnancy and hasn't done so with this one yet (16 almost 17 wks). If your baby appeared healthy and had a good hearbeat, there isn't much else they're going to do at this stage. If you have questions, you need to ask them. Honestly, early prenatal appointments are boring if ya ask me. Urine check, heartbeat check, questions, done. Best of luck to you. Try not to stress!

When i was pregnant with my daughter my Dr NEVER measured my belly and he only went over the ultrasound if something was abnormal because i had the same concerns and i asked y he didn't do that stuff and he told me there was nothing to worry about so quit worrying and enjoy the glow that you have and trust your Dr or else find one that you do trust. best of luck with the new baby and if you need someone to talk to email me.

yes it's normal. my doctor didn't start measruing my belly till after 20 weeks, and an ultrasound that early just really tells the location of the baby and how far along you are. you will get more in depth at around 20 weeks.

Sounds all right to me. That means he's not concerned. But, why didn't you ask the doctor? You need to speak up when you are pregnant to make sure that you understand what is going on. I went in with a written list of questions that I came up with between appointments. The doctor is there to serve you and make you feel comfortable with what's going on. Take advantage of that. Good luck and congrats on the baby!
