me and my brother(and some friends) are forming a band but we want to use a name that has been used well i just found out that this organisation uses the name and basically the logo we created i no nothing about the organasation and it has the word the infront of if we dont use the can we get into any trouble if we record music and sell it. we also are thinking about making a site for the band. but we want to know if we can keep the name and/or if we leave out the we can still keep it right, yes we are going to change our logo.(we dont plan on being famous just trying to slipp a few $$ in the summer by doing what we love)

As long as the org is not a band yer cool just don't use the logo. As far as sites go myspace is the most browesed but don't sign up regular sign up as a artist. They also have a way to sell your tunes. Maybe get a few local fm stations and some online stations to play your stuff too. Sound like you got a great start!

definately keep the name (what is the name anyways?) but give the new logo a whole new twist, so no one will think of the name's other owner

You could get in serious trouble by violating copyright laws. I would change your name or not try to sell your music.

Use the name Blink 182...they were a band, and now they arent. So i guess you can use that.
