some states withhold a portion of the incoming monies to inmates for various incurred inmate debts.

In Iowa we hold 10% of incoming monies for 'gate fee' up to $100. and 20% for court ordered restitution, and up to 50% for child support (current and arrears). Not only is this monies withheld from incoming monies, but any monies that is credited to an inmates account.

You need to find out for yourself if Ohio garnishes inmate accounts for child support. My quick answer is likely to be no and you can send money to him without it going towards child support for other children.

I know MD does not garnish inmate accounts for child support and I can't imagine why OH would be any different.

it could really depend on the state, in most states no, the money sent to him would be used to allow him to better take care of himself.
