Scan a picture of the sonogram (always wait until you see the doctor to go ahead and tell everyone) and place it in a "I love my grandparents" frame.

We did that ,and it made everyone cry. Awww.

Also, if this is your first, be sure to wait a little bit before telling anyone. You could easily have a miscarriage, especially with your first.

I saw a cute idea. The couple waited until one of the parents had a birthday (if it's going to be a while, this won't work!! ) and they copied a picture of the ultrasound- usually you will get one if they can't find a heartbeat at your first apt- and put it in a frame for the parents birthday present. I also saw one where the couple took a few home tests, put them in a box and tied ribbon around the box and gave it to the parents to open.

With me, I just called them and told them. It was easier then coming up with something, and I was either so excited or so upset that I had to tell someone!!

The ultrasound picture idea is cute, but I had to wait until 19 weeks for my ultrasound picture, and at 17 weeks my sister commented that I looked like I was pregnant (I was wearing a baby doll shirt so it made it look worst!) and I had to admit that I was. Kinda spoiled my plans.
Buy little baby onesies that say "I love Grandma" or "I love Grandpa" and put them in a basket filled with other baby items. They'll figure it out once they see it!

I didn't think of this till it was too late for me, but I had the idea of putting a copy of the 1st ultrasound pic into a picture frame that says grandma or grandpa or something like that, then you can give them the "present." I am going to do this for my next baby!

How about getting or making bibs that they can keep at their houses that say "I Love Grandma" and "I Love Grandpa." Or you could make a family tree with each person's picture buy it and leave the baby one black with a TO BE ANNOUNCED sticker in the window. They make frames specifically for family trees, so that would be easy. How about T-shirts like "Best grandpa" or whatever and you could wrap them and give them to the folks. Good luck and congratulations!

Take them to a Maternity clothes store and let them get surprised! Asking the mom's to go with you to that store and have your hubby take the dad's to a toy store and go into the newborn/infant toy section see what they say! Guys take a lil longer to figure things out! You can also invite them over for dinner and when it comes to dessert give them each a jar of baby food! That woud be fun! Good luck!

I got them each a book about how great it is to be a grandparent. It took them a second before it finally sunk in. I wish I could have taken a picture of their faces when they finally realized what was happening! (It's both of their first grandchild too). It was a lot of fun telling them. My mom and mother-in-law both started crying (tears of joy). My dad started crying (only the third time in my life I've seen him cry - agian tears of joy). And all my father-in-law said was "I'm going to need another beer"! LOL! Anyway...that's how I told them. So much fun!

My favorite type of food is chinese so we invited everyone over for Chinese food. Before the guests arrive, replace the paper slip inside the fortune cookies with one of your own, announcing your big news... or if you already had your first ultrasound you can buy some really cute frames and put the picture in it with a card or note that says. " look at me mawmaw/Pawpaw.. ha ha that
