Yahoo deducts five points from us if we ask a question. Why should we lose points for asking a question? Do they suspect us to just know everything?

"Oh, wait, you're asking a question... that's it, we're taking five points away. Shame, shame."

Yes! Where would they be if noone asked any?! They should charge points for answering questions stupidly. Like the ones that say "Ummm, I don't know".

Yes i do agree with you ,you should gain more points for asking questions eg 3 points for an question & 1 point for answering what do you think.

So if you pick my answer I will get 10 points, then I can ask two questions, then if you answer them both and I pick your answers to be best you will be up 15.

I never understood that either! What's the point in taking points away for something that keeps this site going? Especially a whole 5!! And we only get 2 for answering?? I think it should be switched!

Because then everyone would be asking questions and there would be nobody left to answer them.I owe you a thank you because I often wondered about that myself.Thanks Meg you are a Sweetie !

But, if you the asker, picks the best answer , you get 3 points back so it is really only costing you 2 points to be stupid.

It is a system of checks and balances, you contribute you get points to spend on answering, I believe this is their thought pattern!! Happy asking......

because it is called yahoo answers not yahoo questions, of course i think you should get points for asking a very good question. don't you?

when they take away points for asking a question they stimulate you to answer others questions...or something like that
