You say you make each other happy and love each other. That is all that matters.

If you feel happy with him than dont even let the age difference cross your mind.

Whatever makes you guys happy. That is the most important, your going to live with him, and not anyone else.

Congrats and good luck!

Edit: And yes, the level of maturity is important as well, as long as you guys undestand each other and respect each other. You guys still have three years until you get married. You will know more of each other throughout those years.

I don't think it's wrong at all. I've always dated older men. The only thing that I'll say is that although I've always dated older guys I realized when I was 19 that it's hard to take any relationship at that age really serious (marriage potential) because I still had a lot to learn. At 19 even though you think that you're really mature, you're going to change a whole lot as you get older and it will be harder to make things work out.

Good luck.

My husband's best friend waited until he was 40 and married a 19 year old girl years ago. They had five children who are all grown now, but recently they got divorced, not because she or he cheated, but because that innocent little girl finally grew up and he couldn't accept it. Now he dates women much younger than him, so he is following the same pattern all over again. But every case is different, so if you feel the age difference won't affect you down the road, go ahead and get married.

I dated a man 15yrs older then me some time back and this was my experiance. I enjoyed being with him ofcourse he was more mature then men my age. He made me happy and I "loved" him. However due to his age there were so many differances such as sex, wanting or not wanting children, and so forth. Do you feel at 22 when he is 42 that you'd be willing to live with your differances. Afterall when your 32 and hes 52 he'll be more of a father then a husband

If the two truly have unconditional love for one another but jealousy and the one who is older plays against you. As they grow older the body becomes weaker and more prone to sickness. Yes, the flame can be kindled between the two but a lot younger flame can egnite olot quicker and these are just a couple of problems you will encounter. My advice is to stick with someone who is not so far between in age...

Let's see if I can translate:
1) You said: "We make each other happy",
I'm hearing: WOW....I'm having sex with a 19 year old.

2) You said: "We love each other":
I'm hearing: WOW....I'm having sex with a 19 year old.

3) You said: "...aren't getting married until 3 years from now"
I'm hearing: "This relationship will self-destruct before 3 years has gone by"

I give it 3 months.

Perhaps if the 19 year old had some life's experiences and strong independence, it would make some sense. But normally, I dont feel it's a very good idea.

It's only as wrong as you think it is. I haven't heard of any law stating what the age difference has to be between a husband and a wife.

I'm assuming you didn't meet in night school. Age is a number, but be sure he's not just using you for your smarts.
