My car shakes and hiccups when I drive over 40 miles why is it?

Just solved a similar problem on a 2000 Saturn 1.9L engine. Seems they have a problem with the intake gasket. The gasket had deteriorated behind the power steering pump. (#1 Cyl) Have your mechanic check that first before you go to the expense of a new engine.

Might just need a tune up, could be bad gasoline, a timing belt; have Saturn put it on the diagnostic machine and find out for sure. Could be a buck for dry gas or a grand for a timing belt.
