First of all , would you be worried about a voice recording asking you to leave your number and will get back to you?
Why or why not?
And how long would you give them in your mind before you felt they were being unprofessional and you should call someone else instead?
I am a landscaper and I just feel such anxiety about calling people back, I dont know why!
I think it is just anxiety!
So how long after you left a message would you give them before you felt like it had been to long?

Personally, I would not leave a message unless they came HIGHLY recommended, but that's just me. I want someone on the phone when I'm calling answering my questions, etc. If my good friends recommended them and I did leave a message, I would expect a call within 24 hours.
Just for the records, I would never just call one place. Even if I gave the company 24 hours, I would still call others to shop around.

I'd call them back as soon as i could, that would show them you value their business, i don't like answer phones though but i would leave a message and i would expect a reply, good luck!!

If any company I call cant be bothered to get back to me within 24 hours they are not going to get my custom. The only time I would make an exception to this is if they had the decency to apologise and gave me a credible reason as to why they hadnt called me back sooner

Not a problem. However once you start a relationship with them tell them you want a better number such as a cell phone if they refuse-dumpem.

If I reached an answerphone I would probably not leave a message but go through yellow pages and find another number to ring...(well you did ask!!)

I'd expect a few hours. I would also expect someone to be there to take my call at first.

24 hours then I would feel they had not wanted my money and call someone else.
