I agree with the others. 4 HPTs would not be wrong. I had that happen to me early on. I could only manage a small amount of urine and it came back as negative. The most accurate way is with a blood test. I would go back, be assertive and ask your Dr to test your blood!
You must be pregnant to have had FOUR positives - there is no other reason for having HCG in your system!
Good luck!

Did you do the hpts after your doctors appt? If not, it's possible you had a very early miscarriage and by the time you took the doctor's test, the hcg was too low to detect.
OR
You took the doctors test but that one required more hcg than you had built up....meaning, you are pregnant but at the time weren't pregnant enough for the doctors urine test to detect it. Sometimes, the doctors use tests that need 50 mIU/ml, while the home test only needed 25.
If you still dont' get your period, ask for a blood test. They don't usually do them until you get a positive urine test though.

yes indeed!!
With my 3rd I had a BLOOD test come back negative after a positive hpt. I'm not sure why but I was definately pregnant.
With my 2nd I had a negative urine test at the dr's and he said "the only definite answer won't appear for another 8 months or so" I think he knew that I knew I was pregnant.
Likely what happened was that you had too much to drink before the appt or it was late in the day when your hcg levels are lower in the urine.I would go back to the dr and request a blood test.

hi yeah i had the same problem. i did two home preg tests. the first said pos but i wanted to make sure so done another one it said no. so i went docs and they said i wasnt but sent me for a blood test as that is 100% right as it picks up hormones. it turns out i wasnt as i had a really bad period a few weeks later. but a month after i found out i was pregnant with my second child and now im 14 weeks.

HPTs are usually just as accurate as a urine test at the doctors....Ask them to do a blood test. This is the most accurate way to know if you are truly pregnant.

Sweetie, I`d say your doc has got it wrong, they do after all and 4 home kits can`t all be wrong!
Personally I would wait a couple of weeks before spreading the wonderful news anyway, I managed to keep it quiet for only a couple of days but know someone who kept it quiet for 12 weeks!!!! God knows how!
Good luck x

Something happened with the urine test at the docs. You can't get false positives with these tests, so 1 positive is all it takes. congrats.

Usually you don't see false positives especially that many. have you tried a different brand test just in case? If yes, I would insist at the Dr's for a blood test! A blood test is your best bet and def wont have mixed results!
Good Luck!

i think you are pregnant.its very unlikely you get false positive with pregnancy tests especially as you have done four.pregnancy tests detect a hormone in you urine that you only get when you are pregnant or taking some sort of hormone replacement tablets..good luck..

I think its more likely that the doctor got it wrong than 4 pregnancy tests.
