My husband swears by LimeAway, but it doesn't work, no matter how hard I scrub. A friend suggested WD40 (the stuff you use in autos or bike chains). Husband says he doesn't think it will work, thinks it will leave residue and was wondering if someone has ever tried it and was wondering the results before I chance leaving a nasty residue like hes afraid of. Anyone know or have better suggestions?

it wont remove hardwater residue .. that will have to be removed chemically or by scrubbing ... u can prevent it from building up by waxing the glass or using rainx on it every month or so ... i wouldnt use wd40 in the bathroom coz ... for one it stinks ... and for two it will leave a greasy film that will cause hair and dust to stick to it and cloud the glass ... and if it gets in grout im sure it will permanently darken it ..... but thats just me ..

Any oil based product will look like it disappeared but only masks it. Clean first with vinegar and water and then use lemon oil on doors. Lasts long and smells great.

Yes, it will work, and WD40 also works on stainless steel to remove water stains

It may work but I wouldn't recommend it because of its hazardous fumes and flammability.

You might want to try using CLR, borax or a combination of baking soda and a sponge mixed with Lime-A-Way

Now try and get the WD-40 off, plus I cant stand the smell also hard to get rid of. Try CLR instead of LimeAway or Glass wax.
