How long would you give them to call you back before you began to feel like you should call someone else and that they lost their chance with you?

If they aren't organised enough to call you back, they probably aren't reliable enough anyway. I would expect them to try to make contact within 2 working days, and I would have no problem phoning other companies even before that. remember, the customer is doing the business a favour, by paying a them huge amount of money.
Looking at your other question, it seems you are the business owner. My advice to you would be to phone any potential customer as soon as you get their message- as long as its not after about 8 pm. Strike while the iron is hot. You need them as much as they need you. Good luck, it'll get easier the more you do it.

This is a very busy time of year for landscapers.. (spring in the northern hemisphere) .. and I'm sure that they are really booked up. Give them a week, if they don't call you, you should call them back.. or call someone else.

Good luck!

48 hours and then I'd call someone else. There should be at least one person to do the phone work as well as the office work.
