I was just on the phone with my insurance company and the lady was being a complete bouche dag, and instead of swearing and hanging up in her fat face, I simply said "well you're beeing less than helpful today, aren't you?" ....what's happening to me?

It sounds like you have finally grown up (please dont be offended I was about 23 when I started to say things like that to creditors/insurance). This is a good thing and as the saying goes honey attracts more bees than vinegar. Ive found that if you are firm but not nasty you can usually get your way. I like the phrase you used too, the one that I use when I feel that they are getting out of line is "Im worried that I may have to speak to your manager because I am not sure that this job is for you". It seems to work when they decide to get heated and yell at you when you are in the right and their company messed something up that you will have to pay for in the end anyway. Good luck, and yes my dear, Im proud of you!

What you are doing is realizing that you can clearly get the message across and that a bit of sarcasm combined with wit often has more sting and bite than screeching and hanging up. Plus, since you have to be clever to pull it off, you (and I) end up feeling quite proud!
Good Job!

My dad taught me over 50 years ago that you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar. The big question is: Did you get your problem solved or did the insurance company win again.

Yes, I'm proud of you, because she will not forget that one, and it will stay with her far longer than cursing at her.
