explain to your friend that you know that he is dating her and you have no intention to ruin your friendship with him over a girl and that you are not meaning to flirt you are just talking with her

If you respect his feelings...back off a little from the female. this does not mean you can't be friends just try to respect the parameter of their relationship as though it was yours.

you just need to let him no that you and that girl would never work out! tell him that you to are just friends and you would never hurt him like that. tell him that if he was a good friend he would trust you and should know that you arent like that! (unless you are like that) hope all goes well!
