ADD isn't something that you need to worry about. Basically it means that your cousin has a hard time focusing on things in life. It's kind of like when you take the remote for the TV and watch about 5 seconds of a show, and then change the channel. Imagine that going on in your head all the time, a "mental remote control." The medicine that your cousin is taking is supposed to help her learn to control her "mental remote control" so that she can focus during school and sports.
That being said, ADD can cause problems in school because the student can't concentrate long enough to understand what is being taught. This doesn't mean they are dumb or stupid, it just means they have to work extra hard to concentrate.

ADD is Attention Deficit Disorder. It is manageable with medication and is not a terminal illness or anything like that. Your cousin has problems concentrating on things for a long time and keeping thoughts in order. The medication helps with that and makes her life a lot nicer. It usually affects learning and jobs especially, not so much in relationships and that's probably why you never knew about it. Good luck and God Bless.

ADD isn't something life threatening, but it can affect a person's ability to concentrate and/or do well in school or at work. Different people can experience different parts of ADD, but most can't concentrate, have minds that wander, and have difficulty sitting still and reading, etc. It's nothing super serious to your healthy or anything like that though.

ADD is Attention Deficit (can't spell it) Disorder. It's just that her attention span isn't as long as most people's and can be distracting. Two of my friends have it. But, their pills keep it under control really well. I don't know what they're like without it, but they'd probably just start a conversation and as soon as they see something, they're off. They tend to get bored easily.
