"Good sun during the day" is usually bad for turtles unless they are outdoors.

Sun coming through a window generally overheats the tanks. It is better to regulate temps with a good heater (aim for 75-80F), and provide a basking and UVB light to replace the sunlight.

I know this seems dumb, but sunlight going through a window or other glass looses almost all of its UVB rays and changes them to heating rays.

Other common reaons turtles do not eat:
- Small tank. Aim for 10 gallons per inch of shell length.
- Cool temps. Aim for 75-80 water, 90 at the basking site
- Dirty water. invest in a good filter.
- Poor diet. Check the sites listed for diet ideas.

Baby turtles will not usually eat guppies until they are older. I would ask the place that you bought them from, what they were used to eating and get some of that. Mine love the repto-min floating sticks. Break them into smaller pieces because they can get frustrated trying to eat the large sticks. You might also try some romaine lettuce (ONLY romaine lettuce, not any other kind). They also make a special drop that you can give babies to help increase their appetite. I can't think of the name right off (I have some at home because a couple of mine needed it), but if you want it email me at lizzietallon@yahoo.com and I will find it at home and email you back.

red eared sliders are able to not eat for a while. try going to the place you bought them and ask what to do. they can suggest different pellets of alternatives that your RESs can eat. do not leave the store without seeing if they will eat that food though.

did you hatch them or did you buy them from the pet shop?

young ones, expecially after they hatch, need to practise swiming and holding their breath.
try puting them in a shallow tank. enough to cover their backs, and a place for them to climb out.

in the shallow tank, try feeding them worms, but cut them up into small bits. for dry food, leave it in a bowl for about 10 minuets for them to get soft and feed it to the turtles

if they still wont eat, youll have to feed them manually. make a liquid drink thing out of their rehidrated dry food and add reptile vitamins. put this mixture into a syrnge and feed it to the turtle

Pick him up and try to hold a piece of lettuce to his mouth and see if that works or what ever he eats.
