Recently my Leopard tortoise Tank has become more adventures, and keeps climbing his little log tunnle. Of course once he's up he can't get down without rolling onto his back were then he is stuck. The last cople of days I've had to take his tunnle out when I leave for work, but then he doesn't have a good place to hide so he can cool off as well. I have hay and dirt in his table but he doesn't seem to dig or play in them but rarley. I know that the heat will basicly fry him when he's fliped but his tunnle is in the cooler part of his table so mostly I worry about suffocateing. Are there better things to put in his table that mabey he won't climb?

A turtle on its back is vulnerable to sun, exposure, dehydration, predators, starvation, stress, etc. but does not die by suffocation or other things quickly.

I'd re-think my set-up. There should be no reason you can't leave the shelter in place 7/24 if it is well designed.

Perhaps adding some soil 'ramps' on the side to make it easier to climb off of, or a shelter that is designed more like a doghouse and harder to climb onto?

This must be a small guy if it is still on a turtle table. I'd try a different substrate, and build stuff up over the logs for it to climb on safely.

Perhaps you can move the heater so the tunnel area is not a big risk for it?
