Memphis isn't getting much hype for a couple of reasons. One reason is, Memphis plays in a weak confernce (Confernce USA) and you cant really be known as a dominant team unless you play in a good confernce and do well. Memphis had a couple decent opponets at the start of the season and none really since. But as far as the tournament goes, they will tear threw North Texas and I think they will beat Nevada/Creighton. But then Texas A&M could be trouble. If this matchup occurs, A&M will have the advantage, because its basically A&M's backyard (San Antonio) and the All-American Acie Law IIII.

Besides maybe Gonzaga, Memphis didn't really play anyone since New Year's Day. Conference USA was way down- only Memphis is in from the conference. No one respects the 22 game winning streak because some high school teams in New Jersey played tougher teams than the ones Memphis beat. I think when faced with real competition, they will fold.

In games against top 25 opponents Memphis is 1-2 with their only win coming against Kentucky at home. Kentucky only finished 4th in their conference with a 9-7 conference record. The best team Memphis has beatn on the road is Gonzaga, a #10 seed in the tourney. Memphis has a great record and good athleticism but they lack marque wins and thus have gotten no hype.

Mostly because Memphis played a weak schedule, and is in an incredibly weak conference. The three tough games Memphis played, they all lost.

But that doesn't mean Memphis should be overlooked, as they are loaded with talent and depth. They will stomp North Texas, and should beat the Creighton/Nevada winner. If Texas A&M comes up next, Memphis could be in real trouble, as A&M can beat just about anybody.

Memphis plays in a very mediocre conference. Who really knows how good they are? We will find out soon when they begin to play decent teams in the tourney. They should try to get into a decent conference as soon as possible. Memphis has a good coach and good players. I don't think they can get past the second game against Texas A&M. The poor competition hurts during tournament time when you are playing some really good teams. Good luck !

Memphis plays in the Conference USA...so it is a very easy conference. They have a bunch of wins in a row because they aren't playing any real competition. So the thinking behind is it is that they won't be able to match up when they actually play good teams. I have them losing to Nevada in the 2nd round.

Memphis plays in a VERY weak conference...And as the BIGGEST fish in their pond..they should devour everything in C-USA. Most experts understand this and know if they can get to the second round...maybe Memphis might be worthy of some consideration.

I have Memphis picked to be the 2007 National Champions. They haven't been mentioned or anything in sports which no one will see them coming and destroy everyone. Let them get a couple games wrapped up then the media will start talking.

That's because they didn't get any national coverage because they played in a weaker conference. Don't let that fool you though, they can go deep in the tournament and they will turn some heads once people get a chance to see them play better quality teams than what they have.

Also, many experts pick them as the early favorite for next year's overall number 1.
