On the surface it sounds like a great idea, since most officials don't care about how many lives are ruined by decisions they make. On the other side people would once again take it to the extreme and the courts would be more clogged up than they already are. It's already at the point where people look for others to blame when something goes wrong whether or not there is someone to blame. I personally think the best thing to do is get rid of every public official and start fresh with regular people. The problem with the government is that most of them are rich and we all know that most rich people are tainted by their money so they're already corrupt when they get in. Maybe some sort of system should be set up so they do feel personally obligated to make the right decision.

It would be hard to hold them accountable when we (the voting public) are the ones who elect them into office - As a voter you should study your candidate to make sure he/she is qualified for the job and also represents your views/morality...
Having said that I think there should be a list of qualifications for each position and if the candidate does not meet all the qualifications he/she should not be allowed to run for office, after all if we can't lie on our job application why should political candidates get to do it to the voting public???

I feel they should be held accountable 100%. Granted they are elected but I do net feel politicians from other States should be able to make decisions that would affect me. I didn't vote for them and have no way to vote them out.

Incompetence is too subjective when it comes to politics. It would be a huge mistake to allow people to sue over differing political views.

They jacked up the price of our medications to cover Doctors being sued!
Why don't they just jack up our taxes so we can sue these Government leaders of failure!

That's why we vote. If you don't like your elected official, then vote them out. If you don't vote, don't complain.
