★★ RESETTING WINDOWS ADMIN PASSWORD ★★

◙ There are several ways to reset a Windows Administrator password. Below are three examples.

◙ First you have to decide whether you have Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Professional Edition. If you don't know you can easily find that information this way.

1. Open the Start Menu
2. Right-click the My Computer icon and click on Properties.
3. The version will be listed there in that page's System Area.

◙ How to reset the Administration password for Windows XP Home Edition.

1. Restart (click Start Menu > Turn Off Computer > Restart) your computer.
2. Press F8 repetedly until the Boot Mode menu appears.
3. Start Windows XP in the troubleshooting mode by selecting "Safe Mode".
3. When the Widows Logon screen appears, a new user account appears at the top called "Administrator".
4. Logon with that account which rarely needs a password.
5. Once you are in go to the Control Panel and reset your password.

◙ How to reset the Administration password for Windows XP Professional Edition.

◙ Didn't that work for you? Well there is another way you can try. You can go to the web site below and download a program that will grab your encrypted password file. Get the information from that program and email the info to the web site and in a day or two you'll get your password back.

◙ TIP: You can get you password back in a few minutes if you give them $20.

◙ Here is a site with many apoplications to dowload that will help with Windows-related password recovery.

◙ The source of this information was "PCs, The Missing Manual". If you have Windows XP you really need to buy this wonderful book. It is worth every penny they are charging for it. Ipoders will find some helpful information here too.

◙ Your computer comes with built-in help files. To get password information click on the START BUTTON > HELP & SUPPORT > SEARCH FOR "PASSWORDS". These help pages used to be a complete waste of time because they were so vague. But now they are very helpful. Back in the old days hard drive space was so small they really couldn't hold the huge cross-referenced help files we have today.
