It is when we see ourselves through the eyes of other people, even to the extent of incorporating their views of us into our own self-concept.

So therefore it isn't simply what we see in the mirror alone; its what the family, friends, peers and society says about this image that is seen.

The Looking-Glass effect is so strong on some individuals that they will change their self-image to match the 'sterotype' qualities of this image.

Well there are 4 mutually exclusive possibilities

How you see yourself
How you see others
How others see you
How others see others

How you see yoursel may not be the same as how others see you and its good to receive feedback and compare the two.

Now its how you incorporate that feedback that depends on whether you have an open loop or closed loop feedback system.

This is Electrical Design Control Theory also and I can design control circuits to control the outcome based on Karnaugh mapping. Spooky huh! This is how electronic chips containing transistors and AND OR NAND & NOR gates are incorporated.

There are those out there that disputee that I am an Electrical Engineer. They also dispute that the Sun rises and sets
