In the state of Indiana, do you have to file paper work to stop paying child support once a child turns 18?

My husband is divorced with children. His ex-wife has custody of the two minor children. My husband had custody of the oldest child, now 21. As a result, she paid child support towards the oldest and my husband paid towards the younger two. This agreement remained in place even after the oldest turned 18. Now, her attorney is claiming my husband owes back child support because she did not need to keep paying once he turned 18. Is this correct? Or, did she need to file paper work to enact this change?

if that child is in college, she does have to continue to pay (in most states).

the money can be adjusted on the case, so i have no idea why she got an attorney to handle it.

yes, you do have to go to court to have it closed on a child of 18; its not automatic.... unless the child is in trade school/college, etc.... but that varies from state to state.
