Of course it is. Political correctness is a 'protocol' frequently practiced by the media, polititians, and so on, to prevent discussion of key issues that need to be discussed, all under the guise of being too 'hateful', or too 'unsensitive', or whatever reason. It's bull. You should be able say what you mean and mean what you say. Whether I agree with you or not is irrelevant. You should still be able to say it. I see nothing wrong with using tact in a discussion--in fact one should--but with 'political correctness', nothing of value is said at all.

Yes it is. If you don't fit into the "Little Politically Correct" box when you speak or write some people can't handle it. It's becoming like Communism. The though control Gestapo wants to ban free speech of any kind that doesn't fit their dogma. The worse part is they don't even answer questions. They move to other topics and ignore your question. It is an attack on Free Speech and Thought. It's like massive mind control.

On thought? No that's ridiculous.

On speech? Only in cases where it is legislated, such as with increased penalties for hate crimes.

Political correctness due to social pressure is not an attack on free speech. You're still free to speak, you just risk ostracism for it.

Yes, any restriction as to what you can say is an attack on freedom of speech, what do you think? It also is used to restrict debate on important issues.

It sure is. It is a by-product of the New Age movement of the 70's, which also wanted us to be non-judgemental about everyone. Like everything else, some grains of truth taken way too far.

It's just stupid, I had a teacher once ask the class if they had any objections on hearing the story of adam and eve.
