Been used as a scapegoat, or have you used someone as a scapegoat? why?

My mom used her past as an esxcuse to physically and verbally abuse me untill I was 18 or so.
I was a scapegoat for her and her pedophile brother to put her sick sins on.

I've never been used as a scapegoat but I've used people as scapegoats. The only reason why I can say is that all is fair in love and war.
