This might sound odd...but I was curious....
Line dancing has been around for years, and I wonder has the dances stayed the same or "evolve" a bit.
Does it matter if I buy an instructional video from 10 yrs ago? Will everything be the same?
I feel stupid asking this...but need to know...
Thanks!

Things will most likely be the same, just some difference in styles. After 10 years the styles will evolve but the basic steps and patterns will pretty much be the same. It will give you a good starting point to work from!

Howdy Thar Cowgirl
Line dancing evolved from the "Stroll".60's but still the done.
There are distinctly different steps and "moves" for distinctly different "line dances"....they are all different.
It's my experience that there are regional preferences.
You are likely to find some where near your local that provides lessons but there is always someone willing to teach a filly a new step...Just git out and try it..Just have fun !!!
Yes , Get a DVD, well worth the research..It will help you appreciate just how many different dances there are.

You shouldn' t be ashamed if you buy a instructional video from ten tears ago. Lots of people ( including me! ) are still fantasied of the 1940's dances and think that older music are better than morden ones.
