Best cell phone plan / provider right now?

Question

I have Verizon land line phone and have never had a cell.

If I got 2 cell phones (one for dh) where would be best? I'm thinking of keeping long distance on the cell phone only? I have unlimited long distance on my regular phone.

What is the cheapest, best package in your opinion, how much is it and what are the pros/cons.

All i will say is, if Cingular is the employer with the "least dropped calls," i could choose for to be attentive to the place, by way of fact their provider blows interior the city the place I stay. I drop calls each and all of the time.
