Is there any other place or thing i can do? We don't have 401 K at work. thanx

Your best option will be a IRA - same tax benefits as a 401(k), you're limited on annual contributions though.

Do some research to see if a Roth or a Traditional is right for you.

No, you can not have a 401k if your employer does not offer one.

However, you can get a deductible IRA, which is functionally equivalent (except for lower contribution limit).

If your income is below $90,000, you can also open a Roth-IRA.

If you are saying "we", I'm going to assume you have a spouse. This means you are able to contribute to a traditional IRA, Roth IRA, and a Spousal IRA. In each of these, you can contribute up to $4,000. The contribution level is phased out when your income reaches certain levels. Review IRS.gov for the charts that include these levels.

Open an on-line brokerage account at Scottrade. Make sure its an IRA account. Fund the account with monies and select your investments.

You can open an IRA (Individual Retirement Account) with just about any bank, financial advisor or such.
