When is hurricane season? Was thinking of taking a vacation there mid-September, would this be right in the middle of a bad time?

I would say that we have the most tropical storm and hurricane warnings in late August thru September, usually about the time school starts here for the kids. According to my son who is an environmental student, we're going to have the whole la Nina thing which is supposed to draw the storms towards us this year, as opposed to el nino, which steered them away last year. I wouldn't book a trip unless the hotel has some sort of hurricane cancellation policy that allows you to get your money back.

hurricane season is long ...june 1- nov 30.... florida was hit hard in 2004 with 4 hurricanes....mostly in the august timeframe. mid-sep will still be really hott...depends on what type of weather you want. if you love hot hot weather and just want to chill by the beach, it should be ok. also lots of thunderstorms during the summer. it's really hit or miss. good luck!

Ft. Laud has had one or two hurricanes in the past 50 years. Do you think anyone here can tell when the next one is due?

I THINK HURRICANE SEASON IS FROM JUNE TO NOV. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN A HURRICANE MIGHT HIT. WE GET PLENTY OF WARNING BEFORE ON HITS BUT THEY USUALLY GO OFF IN THE GULF NEAR MEXICO. I WOULDNT WORRY ABOUT IT
