My sons name is London and we get so many compliments on his name. My fiance and I are really into travelling as well. All of our names we chose were places:

Girl: Kenya, Venice, Asia,Londyn or Mackenzie is nice to but a local place
Boy: Cairo, Manhatten, London, Paris, or Athen (for athens)

These were some that we liked. I don't think it's silly at all to name a child the same as a city. I think they are very mature beautiful names.

Good Luck with your choosing!!
Trista and London

PERSONALLY, I cannot understand why a child would prefer being "tagged" with a city name throughout thier life.
Although, I know a few "Georgias", a "Charlotte", a "Bethesda". and a "Vegas."
My suggestion would be to consider which birth-order (if multiples?) your family observes. - I have known an ALLEN, a BETTY and a CAROLE (siblings.)
I cannot understand the stymies that the ESPN (name)-child will receive through his teenage years.

A lot of people use Austin, and Dallas. You could choose state names such as Georgia and Virgina.
