Even though Venezuela has 9% unemployment and 40% of the population lives below the poverty line, and even though Hugo thinks Bush is the devil, he is compasionate enough to want to help the US citizens.
Thanks Hugo, Thanks Citgo!

Hugo seems like a dangerous enemy of the US interests in the world and specifically in the Southern Hemisphere, because he is promoting the spread of socialism and communism and dictatorships. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. He idolizes Castro of Cuba and we know that Castro has killed thousands of Cubans whose only crimes were fighting for democracy in Cuba.

I personally do not do business in any business that sells Citgo gasoline and recommend all US citizens and friends of US boycott all businesses that promote the sale of Citco gas and oil products. Start with the Citgo gas stations.

Hugo is no saint but neither is he the devil Dubya wants us to believe he is.
Venezuela's oil reserves consist mainly of heavy crude that is much more expensive to extract and refine. If the price of oil rises high enough to make those reserves viable it would make Venezuela the holder of the #1 reserves in the world and give them control of OPEC.
Hugo has already taken control of Venezuela's oil industry out of the hands of the big oil companies. He has re-routed more of the profits back into South America instead of allowing it to move to the pockets of those corporations.
Hugo has moved his country away from the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, helping to keep capitol in Venezuela. He has made it harder for ruthless corporations to exploit the resources of his nation. For this he is labeled a socialist and demonized by the Bush administration, who as we all know, is a little biased toward big oil.

Who cares! Instead of dissing our country and president, he should take responsiblilty for his own country. All he does is criticize when really he should pay more attention to Venezuela because most of it is full of poverty! He's the devil! And looks and acts more like a devil himself!

LOL.....his agenda is the same as the politician who are tripping over each other to give amnesty to criminals. His money will run out and the people of Venezuela will have had enough of his BS.

Please tell me you are kidding! Chavez is giving Bush the finger by doing this! He needs to mend his own fences first! And I agree with boricua_lilly's response....we should all boycott CITGO!

I think the guy has been demonized unfairly. That is what the Bush machine does when they want to destroy someone.

The guy may be wrong in his philosophical beliefs but how often is it that someone comes along that wants to give the poor a chance.

I agree that it's a big PR stunt for Chavez, but tell that to the poor folks who are being helped! Their lives are a little better; we can't argue with that.
