Every time I travel, I have a person house and pet sit. Once I paid a flight and invited a friend to "vacation" while I went to SE Asia for a month. He enjoyed staying at the house, had use of our cars, I provided free food and access to my debit card for anything he needed. I've known him for almost 20 years, though.

Then, I moved to a new area and asked around to find a house & pet sitter for 4-6 weeks while I was out of the country. I got a referral from a neighbor who lives on a citrus/avocado farm with 15 dogs and a bunch of cats. That person wouldn't stay in my home, however, which caused a problem because the pets needed overnight babysitting at the time.

So, I asked at my vet and found one of their technicians who was totally willing to pet and house sit, staying overnight. Obviously, she had to work at the vet during the day, but was close enough to stop by at lunch to let the dogs out. She charged me only $30 a day, when the other pet/house sitter wanted $75 and would only come by twice a day. She watered my plants, walked and played with the dogs, picked up the mail and newspaper and we hardly knew she had been here when we returned.

There are registered and licensed pet & housesitters who are licensed and bonded. You can find them by asking local vets, obedience clubs, kennels and groomers. Most have to have insurance, too.

i might only get the canines sitter. Lock your valuables away in case you're doubtful approximately her, and needless to say you would be able to opt to ask her for the numbers of people who've used her at the instant and get some character references. Have the sitter come over a minimum of as straight away as before you leave so which you will discover how the canines will react. The sitter can likely shield the canines in case you're long long gone, using actuality i'm smart yours is only no longer the 1st annoying canines she's dealt with. in case you're doubtful, you would be able to repeatedly have your brother swing via way of and make optimistic on them in case you're long long gone. optimistic, a sitter would possibly be costly, yet particularly, what else are you able to do? A canines like that would not have the potential to guard a kennel, and your pup gets used to the sitter straight away sufficient.
