I just got an ipod video last week and am still trying to figure everything out. I'm working on getting all of my cds onto my ipod and am getting far but I'm starting to use up to much space on my computer. If I were to delete the music files from my computer but don't take the title off of the itunes playlist, can I still have my ipod sync with itunes without losing all of the songs I deleted from my computer? And, if that doesn't work, how do I go about manually syncing my ipod?

Go into iTunes, and in the left bar where it has your library, store, devices, etc., click on your iPod under Devices. On the screen, you'll see a picture of your iPod, and a bunch of other stuff, but at the bottom there's a check box that says "Manually manage music and videos" so check that and click apply.

Now whenever you get new music files, just drag and drop them into your iPod, but DON'T sync it or you'll lose everything on your iPod that isn't on your computer (I learned that the hard way)
