You have to make sure you've added the country code first. But, even if you do that your operator might not let you call abroad. You have to ring up and ask them to allow international calls sometimes. Goos luck trying to get through to the customer service department though!!!!!

Because you got the number wrong, Example
00 or + = international
41 = nation or country code ( Switzerland )
22 = Geneva ( 022 minus the 0 )
123 456 = actual number
so all together 00 41 22 123 456, and that is how it works

00 32 = Belgium
00 33 = France
00 41 = Switzerland
00 45 = Denmark
00 49 = Germany, etc

because it's international and you have a cheap phone it probably just won't let you.
