M's day and F's day are gimmicks to sell stuff.
However, there is an authentic "Mothering Sunday" in the Anglican tradition, which is not just a scam to promote sales of Hallmark cards and such crap. It has nothing to do with motherhood but refers to your return to worship at your "mother church." I think it is the fourth Sunday in Lent.

To show the world that we are considering our father and mother.
Also a good business opportunity for many people like greetings.
Actually every moment is fathers and mothers moment.
But in todays world of media they can get only 24hours

i think we have those days because mothers and fathers work so hard for their children and the children expect nothing less. So they're just days where the children can give their mothers and fathers breaks from all that hard work and give them a little recognition!

Well there is a mother and fathers day because they are special people in everyone's life they take care of you and support you all your life, not to mention with out mother's and fathers no one would be here. There wouldn't be a president's day or christmas because like I said no one would be here. We have to celebrate our lifes and who gave them to us.

IT is a great way to sell greeting cards and flowers. Let's face it, these are very commercial "holidays," to say the least. But, it is nice to tell your mom and dad you love them...everyday, not just once a year. Good luck

because mother's and father's are very important! they gave you life. they take care of you, spend money on you, drop everything to take you somewhere, give you food and a roof over your head, and frankly, just LOVE YOU! they deserve the credit and the holiday =]

they were made up by a massive gift shop in the USA to sell cards and gifts. mothers and fathers day have caught on, unlike grandparents day, uncles day etc.
