The worker on my case kept saying that there were things wrong with my paper work. For example, doctor didn't put the date on a paper, I was missing my tb shot in one, etc. I would fix the paper work and send it back to him. He was suppose to come out and check out my house. He never showed up. I left him a voice mail. He never got back to me. Keep in mind that it's been over a year since and today out of the blue, he calls me and asks me to send him a copy of my recent physical and that he will mail me some paper work and that once I fill them out and send them to him, that he could come and check out my home in 2 weeks. He sounded frustrated as he was talkng to me. Does anyone have a home child daycare and did you go through the same thing? Does it really take this long or is it that I'm stuck with a worker who isn't doing his job?

Well Doll, it sounds to me like you have a worker that is overworked for a system that is understaffed, or simply that he does not do his job.

I had a home daycare at one time and all I did was prepare my home to the standards in the guidebook, get my TB test and health card, have proof of my first aid and cpr and fill out the state paperwork. Once I filled out the paper work the case worker came out and inspected my home and pronto I was in business.

Then I moved to a larger facility and opened a daycare center. After finishing the preparations the worker again came out and made the inspection turned in her paperwork and the center was a go.

After I shut down the large center and moved back to a home based child care I was keeping the kids when the case worker came by and did the inspection and turned in the final paperwork.

You did not say what state you are located in and the laws change from state to state. I suggest you call the state office in your capital state and ask why this is taking so long and if there is another agent to work with.

But, whatever you do don't piss off the case worker.....they can make your life a living hell.

Good luck.

Each state's laws vary with regards to the number of children who can be cared for in a home child daycare. A year is really too long. You should contact his supervisor so that you don't continued to be frustrated and treated so poorly.

State, Federal and/or city workers are all lazy because they are low paying jobs.
