Hello,
I bought domain name already. I'm going to purchase a web hosting package which includes PHP. Can I able to run my own SMTP and POP servers in my domain ? As those servers are just programs after all.. Anyone plz explain....

If you plan on managing the mail servers yourself ( ie. servers located at your home) you would just need to to make sure the MX record is correctly pointed to your home mail server.

If you want the hosting company to do it they will have that all arranged.

I also recommend running some sort of mail filtering solutions such as spamassassin with clamav, firetrust, etc etc

Yes...I use PageWaiter (plans start at $20/year) and they offer POP3 and SMTP by default...all you have to do is set up an email address.
