My roomie had "some guy" change the apartments thermostat...we have heat but now no AC. The old thermostat is a White-Rodgers Thermo and the one now installed is a Hunter 4411. Presently its wired at:
Green to G
Orange to RC
Red to RH
Yellow to Y
White to W
Black, brown and blue are just tucked away inside not touching anything.
Anyone know the correct wiring for this?

Red usually goes to RC with a jumper going to RH. That is the 24 volt "hot" wire for control. RC is the "hot" for cooling, RH for heating.
If he wired it exactly like the old one, there may be a problem with the A/C. Check the circuit breaker for the outdoor unit.
Normally in a residence, there is only 1 "R" wire unless it is an old system.
Turn the "Fan" switch to "On". If the fan doesn't come on -
Take the stat off of the wall. Disconnect the orange wire. Use a piece of wire and jump RH to G. If the fan comes on, do this:
Disconnect the orange wire and put a small jumper wire between RH and RC so the red wire hits both R terminals. Put the stat back on the subbbase. Turn it on.

Hi, There are many schematics online that perhaps you can see which connections work the same as the other thermostat. Many thermostats are designed to work many types of systems, hot water heat, steam heat & forced hot air would have additional connections for the fan relay. Make sure the voltage requirements are the same, typically 24 Volt. There are some that need just .75V to operate.

At this point, no. Call a heat/ac guy, it'll take him about 15 minutes to fix it.
