When my son was about 2 months old he had the same symptoms. I went to the pediatrician about 3 times. He said he was just congested-give him pedialyte. He wouldn't eat or sleep-I finally went to the ER-they said he had the flu. He was hospitalized and put in an oxygen tent. They put tubes in his nose-down his throat to suck out mucus in his chest. They also came in every couple of hours and beat on his back to break up the congestion.(not real hard of course) They told me to cup my hand and to do it myself at home. I also sucked his nose out with bulb syringe-even though he hated it. But you have to be careful-their nostrils can swell if you do it to much-I never had that problem. Make sure to keep cigarette smoke away-even clothes that have the smell in them-can make worse. Don't give up-you are the mother-go with your gut-no matter what the doctors say. Keep taking the baby to the hospital if you are worried. Different doctors will say different things. Also, they can do tests to see if they have the flu. I never went back to that pediatrician. Oh ask your doctor about a nebulizer(breathing treatments)-It could help.

Take your child to another doctor. If your son has had a fever over 100 for the last week, there is something else going on besides a cold. If he hasn't been eating much, he may be lacking nutrition which could cause him to lose weight. Those factors could possibly lead to serious consequences to your baby if they are not adressed. Go to another doctor and don't waste any time.

More than likely it is a virus and nothing can be done to make your son any better. Antivirals are not very safe, and only work if given as soon as the person gets sick.
The most important thing is to make sure your son is getting enough liquid. If he doesn't pee in 6 hours go to the ER. Try to get liquid into him as frequently as possible. Even the tiniest sips add up over time.
If your gut says something is wrong seek medical attention and don't leave until they listen.

Get another opinion. If you originally took him to his regular dr., try taking him to the Urgent Care center or another pediatrician in the same office. You could even talk to the nurse practitioner and see if they can offer you any remedies. Unfortunately, colds can't be cured with antibiotics, so you may have to just tough it out. But, after a week, more extensive tests should be done to make sure it's not something else.

It is important to know how high the fever was or is? 2 month old babies with fevers need to be evaluted ASAP. I do not agree with your doctor, I work in Pediatrics and have for 20 years and that is wrong. It can be serious when a baby under 12 weeks of age runs fevers.
Go to another doctor and get the baby evaluted please.

Take him to a different doctor. You don't say how high the temperature is, but a baby shouldn't have a true fever for a week. I'd get a second opinion. You also may want to try a cool mist humidifier in his bedroom. Good luck!

A fever means there is some infection that the body is fighting-make the doctor listen or find another one quick.

Go to the ER or find a different doctor. My friend had a doctor that told her the same thing about her baby and her baby was REALLY REALLY sick puking, coughing....
If it's really got you worried just go to the ER! I'm sure they could give him antibiotics to help him get rid of what he has!

Absolutely CHANGE doctors.
You don't say how high the fever is.
Did they do any xrays, like to check if he has pneumonia or similar?
Find a drs office that your friends reccommend as proactive.
